I keep up to date with the law and the specifications while
writing updates for my books so provide up-to-date materials.
An example is the changes to the law of voluntary manslaughter made
by the Coroners and Justice Act 2009 which are required by AQA from
the January 2012 examination.
The areas which have changed are Diminished responsibility and Loss
of control (previously provocation).
Diminished responsibility is still found in s 2 Homicide Act 1957, but is amended by s 52 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009.
Loss of control is new and comes under s 54 & s 55 of the Coroners and Justice Act 2009. S 3 Homicide Act 1957 (the old law on provocation) has been repealed.
